New Year Skincare Resolutions

We’re halfway through the first month of 2022 and what better time to start some New Year skincare resolutions. It doesn’t have to be anything to drastic, but some small & simple adjustments to our skincare routines can make a huge difference to our skin and how it looks.

Skincare Resolution no.1 – Be consistent with cleansing

Cleansing should be a crucial, non-negotiable step in any skin care routine. This year, make a vow to keep your cleansing routine consistent—you should cleanse every morning before applying your makeup for the day and also every evening before heading to bed. In the morning, reach for a facial cleanser suitable for your skin type so that you can start things off on the right foot. You don’t want to apply moisturiser or makeup on top of dirty skin.

Skincare Resolution no.2 – Use a face serum regularly

If you really want to have radiant, healthy-looking skin, a face serum will help with this. These powerful, targeted treatments can go a long way in hydrating and toning your complexion.

Skincare Resolution no.3 – Take your makeup off every night

One of the biggest beauty fails you can make, is to sleep in your makeup. That’s because, when you sleep, your makeup can mix with the dirt and oils that have built up on the surface of your skin—and this can lead to clogged pores. Blocked pores, in turn, can result in breakouts and blackheads. If it’s easier, put a bottle of cleansing wipes / micellar water by your nightstand before you head out. That way whatever time or state you roll in home, and the last thing you feel like doing is getting up to wash your face, at the very least you can wipe your makeup off before going to sleep.

Skincare resolution no.4 – Make applying moisturisers a priority

Keeping your skin hydrated is critical in ensuring it looks its best. The key to maintaining hydration is applying moisturiser morning and night—regardless of your skin type.

Skincare Resolution no.5 – Sun protection

No matter the time of year—or the weather—you should always take the time to apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher as directed.

Skincare Resolution no.6 – Start an anti-aging routine

It’s never too early—or too late—to begin following an anti-aging skin care routine. With the right skin care products, you can help minimize signs of aging, like fine lines and wrinkles, with continued use over time.

Skincare Resolution no.7 – Use a face scrub a few times a week

Dead skin cells can build up on the surface of your skin, leaving your complexion looking dull. That’s why exfoliation is essential. You can use a face scrub to help slough away this build-up for smoother-looking and softer-feeling skin.

Skincare Resolution no.8 – Try a charcoal mask

A radiant-looking complexion is basically the ultimate skin care goal. Meet that goal by adding a charcoal mask to your skin care routine three times a week. Charcoal masks are formulated to draw out the build-up of dirt, oils, and impurities from the surface of your skin while also immediately reducing the appearance of dull skin. Just apply an even layer to clean, dry skin, leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse off thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Skincare Resolution no.9 – Don’t neglect your neck & chest

You want your complexion to look radiant and healthy, but that aspiration shouldn’t stop with your face. Make one of your skin care resolutions for 2022 be taking better care of your neck and chest area.
